Baby Clothes Designer???

After pinning and remaking several items, I decided to venture out and create something. I am so excited about this outfit that I designed for KayBear. It is a gingerbread girl (check out her bow) shirt with pants. After watching a Youtube video, I attempted to sew my first pair of baby pants. So here is my first design from our Holiday 2011 collection:

Glittered Ornaments

Did you know that I absolutely love glitter and Christmas? So what could be better than glittered Christmas ornaments? A friend of mine hosted a fabulous Pinterest party and I had a blast sharing these glittered ornaments. They were really simple to make.
Supplies:
plain ornaments
double sided tape
glittered stickers
And my favorite...GLITTER
1. Place the glittered stickers on the ornament
2. Cut the tape in half (this is how I made the thin designs)
3. Place the tape on the ornament
4. Roll the ornament in glitter.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

Okay...not yet! But making these tissue paper ornaments helped!
Where can I find more fun tissue paper?

OMG...The Michaels Store App

One of my favorite craft apps has to be the Michaels Craft app for my android phone. I can look for projects, make list, search products, and the best part....mobile COUPONS!!! This is definitely an Pinster's dream come true!

Do you use any craft apps?

Winter Shaped Pancakes

Copper Plated Winter Wonderland Set
This morning I tried the cookie cutter pancakes. Aren't they adorable? Here are my tips: Remember to use the all metal cutters and spray them with a cooking spray before each use. I think the mittens are the cutest!

Baby Feet

How can anyone resist baby feet and toes? KayBear's daycare always makes the cutest crafts with her finger and foot prints. I ran across this idea online and wanted to place it on a onesie. Well, the paper copy turned out better than the onesie so, I framed the paper copy. I love the way it turned out! I might use the heading: Baby's 1st Christmas.

Yes..more leg warmers!

I loved making the leg warmers so much... that I had to find more knee high socks. Target has them for $2.50 and I also found them at the Dollar Tree for.....wait for it... a whopping $1. I loved the Target pairs because the designs were more bright and colorful. Both stores' prices beat the fancy baby leg warmer prices ($12-18) found online . I also found these Santa socks (Dollar Tree) with red and white stripes and had to turn them into leg warmers. Enjoy!

You can use scissors to cut the heel and foot part off. I used my rotary cutter because I love using it! These can also be sewn by hand if you don't have a sewing machine. These took me about 10 minutes to make and cost a total of $2.00 if you include the thread.

 So what do you think?

SALES and COUPONS

I love stores like Michaels and JoAnn Fabric and Crafts . I love them even more when I have a 50% off coupon. I have had my eyes on this Martha Stewart Glitter Set for a couple of months now. I used my coupon today and I can't wait to start "glitterfying" everything!

What have you glittered lately?

Are you a Pinster?

There is much more to being a Pinster than just pinning. You actually have to make some of the things you pin. Yes...I know pinning is fun... I spend way too much time doing it. Every now and then, I have to look back at my boards and make a thing or two.
You might think that you don't have enough time. I am a wife, mother, full-time teacher, and graduate student. I don't really do any craft that takes more than 2 hours to complete and that's not me sitting for 2 hours straight. I might do 20 minutes here, and 15 minutes there...until the project is complete. Try it!
Here are a few things that I have pinned and actually made:
1. Teacher Toolbox (click here to see my inspiration):

My very own teacher toolbox with scrapbook paper labeled drawers.

2. Ribbon Turkey Onesie (click here to see my inspiration):

3.  Christmas Bulb Wreath (click here to see my inspiration):

This was fun, but took about 100 bulbs! The best part was that this craft was FREE... I had all the materials in my garage!

4. Baby Shoes (click here to see my inspiration):

 5. Mod Podged Light Cover (click here to see my inspiration)::

Are you making any Pinterest inspired crafts?

Did you say, "PAR-TAY!!!"

My friend Jessi hosted her first Pinterest Party.  Each person picked a craft to share and brought enough supplies for each guest to make the craft. I made 2 button monogram crafts, a sugar scrub, 4 fabric coasters, a yarn scarf, and decorative ornaments. We had a blast!!! It was great getting together with other Pinsters. I can't wait until our next Pinterest Party!

Leg Warmers

This evening I made baby leg warmers. This really took me 10 minutes to make. E-A-S-Y
You will learn that I love to jump into a new project. The good thing is...I will try to give you a heads up on what worked and didn't. So here goes...

Here are some things that I would do differently next time:
1. Change the bobbin color. This is a simple tip that gets me in trouble over and over again. Don't be like me... change it!
2. Get funky with it!! The solid colors are cool, but the patterns are FUN!
3. Do try to find old socks, if you can't...I got 3 pair of Ladies' Knee High Sock at Wally World for $6.00. That's 2 bucks for a pair of baby leg warmers...Oh yeah!!

(Addition: I read a blog today that recommended using toe socks. Why didn't I think of that??)

Up Next: Christmas Tree Shirt
On Deck: Christmas Tree Footprints
Wish List: Tissue Paper Covered Ornaments.... I need to find some fun tissue paper! Any suggestions?

Well Hello There

Hi and welcome to my blog. My name is Christina. I'm a wife, mother, and teacher. I started this blog to share my journey through crafting, cooking, and my new Pinterest addiction. If you haven't heard of Pinterest... (STOP NOW and click this link NOW!) The rest of this will make no sense what-so-ever. Let's continue...My husband A is a great husband and terrific dad. KayBear is my lovely daughter and model for most of my crafts. Thanks for tuning in...

This is where all the magic happens...my craft/ guestroom. It's not much, but it's MY space. I like having an area to craft, gather ideas, and just unwind.

The Beginning... Bows, Bows, and MORE BOWS!

This is how it all started. My good friend Abby gave me hair bows at my baby shower. She took the pictures for our newborn shoot. (SN: Check out her awesome blog...she ROCKS!) I started with a few bows and now I have 2 craft tables, 2 sewing machines (thanks ma), and more ribbon than I'll ever know what to do with... So I would like to share with you:
